What is Facial Eczema?
Facial Eczema is caused by a toxin growing on dead plant material in pasture. When livestock consume the toxic spores, liver damage can occur, leading to reduced productivity and in severe cases visible symptoms.
Facial Eczema is often reported in south-eastern and south-western Australia. Specifically, cases have been found in; East Gippsland, coastal New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
